Reggio Children, Italy

Reggio Children – International Center for the Defense and Promotion of the Rights and Potentials of All Children – is a mixed public-private company established in 1994 through an initiative of Loris Malaguzzi and a committed group of Italian citizens. The initiative endeavors to manage the educational and cultural exchange activities that have been taking place for many years between the municipal early childhood institutions of Reggio Emilia and preeminent educators and researchers from around the world.

Reggio Children is inspired by the educational experience of the Municipal Infant-Toddler Centers and Preschools of Reggio Emilia. Its mission is to carry out innovative educational research while promoting and disseminating high-quality education worldwide.

International recognition of Reggio Children’s activities has led to collaborative initiatives with numerous countries and resulted in the creation of an extensive global network of thirty-two nations.

This system includes the newly established Reggio Children – Loris Malaguzzi Center International Foundation, which focuses on research, study, and development aimed at high-quality education for all, along with Reggio Children and the Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools – Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.

Reggio Children’s headquarters are located in the Loris Malaguzzi International Center. Inaugurated in 2006 and completed in 2011, the Center is supported by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Infant-Toddler Centers and Preschools, Reggio Children, and Reggio Children – Loris Malaguzzi Centre Foundation.

It’s President, Claudia Giudici, has been an integral member of Global Embassy’s journey as it builds a network of Reggio Emilia Approach© preschools in Vietnam. Additionally, as part of the collaboration with Global Embassy, a Reggio Children Research and Learning Centre has been created at Global Embassy.
