INTRODUCTION
Global Embassy and Reggio Children, in partnership with the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam and the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, is holding a special international exhibition “No way. The hundred is there” which includes a series of academic activities on the Reggio Emilia Approach® in early childhood education in Vietnam. The exhibition opens in Ho Chi Minh City and will be held in Ha Noi (Casa Italia) and Da Nang for 6 months, from September 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021.
Loris Malaguzzi (1920 – 1994), educationalist and pedagogista, together with the municipality of Reggio Emilia and several local administrators and citizens, created the Reggio Emilia network of municipal preschools and infant-toddler centres and developed the Reggio Emilia Approach® educational project.
With a theme taken from the title of an Italian poem, “No way. The hundred is there” – also the manifesto of the Reggio Emilia Approach®, the exhibition demonstrates the right to learn and educate, as well as the extraordinary potential of children’s “hundred languages”. Through the open and interactive space, the exhibition narrates the experiences at Reggio Emilia’s municipal infant-toddler centers and preschools which led to the development and expansion of innovative projects in pedagogy, architecture, the environment, politics, society, organization and management from the point of view of Loris Malaguzzi.
The centenary of the birth of Loris Malaguzzi (1920/2020) creates the opportunity, in Italy and around the world, to celebrate the pedagogist and share reflections and ideas on the present and the future of the Reggio Emilia Approach’s® educational project. Therefore, Global Embassy has organized this exhibition and experiential activity about the Reggio Emilia Approach®. The program includes:
- Exhibition “No way. The hundred is there.”
